Bates previously lived in Novi, giving local fans a direct hometown connection to one of America’s most decorated figure skating teams as they head toward Milan-Cortina.
   

• Some cannabis retailers say price hikes from new 24% tax won't hit customers for now (theoaklandpress.com) — A new 24% wholesale tax on recreational cannabis in Michigan is raising costs for retailers, but at least one nearby shop where a Novi resident was photographed buying products is temporarily freezing prices. The tax, part of a road funding package, is being challenged in court by industry groups who warn it could push more buyers to the black market and force weaker dispensaries to close.
