Romney Wins Novi, State

Here are your results from Tuesday's primary election.

 The results are in for Novi in Michigan's presidential primary and Mitt Romney is the projected winner for Novi .

Of 37,675 registered voters in the Novi's 21 precincts, 7,558 people hit the polls. That translates to about 20 percent of voters casting ballots.

Mitt Romney wins the majority of Novi's vote with 3,747 votes or 54.96 percent of the vote. Rick Santorum garnered 1,844 votes or 27.05 percent of the vote. Ron Paul got the third largest segment of the vote with 645 votes or 9.46 percent.

Exactly 733 Democratic Party ballots were issued in Novi. About 90 percent of those votes went to Barack Obama.

It's not surprising that Romney won big in Novi, said Oakland County Commissioner Kathy Crawford.

"He has conservative views," she said. "Maybe he is not as appealing to a tea party person but he has the basic values I identify with … family and religion and things I can relate to."

She added, "He’s like a lot of other people in our community."
