Student codes of conduct may vary slightly from district to district, or even from school to school, but they are all similar in intent.

These codes set forth the rules and regulations that govern the students' involvement with the academic, social and recreational programs of the district. Each school's code of conduct also provides a systematic approach to handling any violations of the school's policies.

In other words, it lets students know how to behave in school and what happens if they don't.
