5 Things to Know This Week
Winter weather, meetings, taxes, Easter and a day (or two) off from school.

- Where did spring go? With a in effect until noon and 1-3 inches of snow expected to fall this morning, it's hard to believe we're more than halfway through April. But then again, it's Michigan. There's also a good chance for more snow Tuesday, but then temperatures should creep back up to nearly 60 degrees Wednesday, when thunderstorms are predicted.
- It's Tax Day. Because Emancipation Day fell on April 15 this year, the deadline to file taxes was pushed from Friday to today. If you haven't filed yet, you still have time – but not much.
- One township meeting this week. The Zoning Board of Appeals meeting scheduled for Tuesday at 7 p.m. has been cancelled. The Historic District Commission will meet this Thursday at 7 p.m. at the .
- No school on Friday. Rochester, Lake Orion and Romeo community schools are all off this Friday, which is both Earth Day and Good Friday. There will also be no school on April 25 for Romeo Community Schools.
- Easter is this Sunday. There are several family-friendly Easter events this week, including the Wednesday at 11 a.m., the Thursday at 5 p.m., the Saturday at 9:30 a.m., the Easter Egg Hunt at Saturday at 11 a.m. and the Saturday at 1 p.m.
