Remake Grandma's Recipe with HAP Redo Contest

This summer, Health Alliance Plan (HAP) invites foodies and home cooks to transform a family favorite recipe from the past into a healthy, delicious and easy-to-prepare dish.

As the "Happy Together Summer Fest" (celebrating HAP’s 50th anniversary) makes its way through Oakland, Genesee, Wayne and Macomb counties, HAP will be on the lookout for the very best healthier versions of recipes in three categories: Potluck and Picnic Favorites; Casseroles and Comfort Foods; and Desserts.

The Retro Recipe Redo contest challenges foodies and home cooks to cut the fat, calories and/or salt from favorite family recipes without compromising taste or ease of preparation. Entries will be accepted through July 31, 2011. The contest is open to adults from Genesee, Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties and surrounding areas. There is no cost to enter. The contest guidelines, recommendations and entry form can be found at hap.org/50th.
