Planning Commission to Discuss Blossom Ridge Rezoning Request
Tonight's Oakland Township Planning Commission meeting begins at 7 p.m. in Township Hall.

Tonight, members of the Planning Commission will again discuss the proposed to rezone roughly 42 acres on the northwest corner of Adams and Dutton roads from Medium Residential Density (MRD) to Multiple Family Residential Density with Planned Residential Rezoning Overlay (RM-PRRO) for the purpose of building , a continuing care senior residential community.
The commission has previously on the rezoning request, which was originally submitted by Moceri Company earlier this year. The would consist of 284 planned units, including 58 duplexes, 70 attached units in buildings that contain four to eight units per building and a larger building that contains 124 independent living facilities and 32 assisted living facilities.
The rezoning request has who believe the community does not match the rural characteristics of the township because of its size and density. Many residents are also concerned about increased traffic at the corner of Adams and Dutton roads.

, Dominic Moceri cited the overwhelming need for senior housing in the near future as the most important reason his company has planned the senior residential community.
The commission will also hear an update on the Goodison Plan at tonight's meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. at . The meeting is open to the public.

It is not known if the commission will vote on the rezoning request at tonight's meeting. If the commission does vote to either recommend or not recommend the rezoning request, the request will then go before the Oakland Township Board of Trustees for approval.
