Police: Deputies Use Taser to Subdue Intoxicated Man at Speedway

A 29-year-old Pontiac man is in jail Sunday after threatening to kill a Speedway employee while intoxicated and refusing to cooperate with police, according to a media release from the .
Just after 3 a.m. Sunday, Oakland County Sheriff's deputies responded to the 900 block of Sherry Drive in Orion Township after receiving calls abut a man yelling and screaming down the street. According to the report, deputies soon located the disorderly man inside the gas station at Lapeer and Clarkston roads.
The man was smoking, pouring soda on the floor inside the gas station and threatening the gas station employee, saying he was going to kill him, according to the report.

The subject, who police say was intoxicated, refused to cooperate with deputies and tried to flee the building when deputies attempted to take him into custody. A deputy deployed a taser to subdue the man, who was then arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting and obstructing an officer.
He was taken to the Oakland County Jail after being medically cleared, according to the report.
