Great Escape: A Romantic Dinner at Westwynd Grille

So you managed to find a sitter for the kids, but you don't want to go to the same old restaurant. Maybe you want something a little fancy, but without having to dress up – or pay through the nose.

Luckily, in a rural neighborhood off of Adams Road in Oakland Township, there's a quiet restaurant tucked into the corner of a golf course, far from the lights and sounds of Rochester or Lake Orion.

The recently renovated Westwynd Grille, which sits at the entrance to the Westwynd Golf Course, is surrounded by the rolling hills of the golf course, which includes a lake. The grille also has its own herb garden, which is open for the public to tour. 

The grille's three-season patio provides you and your loved one with an especially romantic setting during the warmer months.

The menu features several enticing options, including Lake Perch Saute, Cajun Shrimp Maria and a 12 oz New York Strip. The prices are affordable (see attached menu), and daily specials are available.

And for the golf enthusiasts, you can walk from the restaurant onto the golf course for a round on the course's 18 holes.

The restaurant is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday from 10:30 a.m.-8 p.m. with Sunday brunch from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. The grille is closed on Mondays during the winter season.
