Mailboxes Fall Victim to First Snowfall of the Year

Only one accident was reported to the Wednesday morning following the winter storm that just in time for the morning commute.

A 22-year-old Lake Orion woman was driving southbound on Orion Road just south of Lake George Road when she lost control of her vehicle and hit several mailboxes and an Ameritech utility hub.

The incident occurred after the woman braked to avoid a vehicle in front of her, which had applied its brakes, according to the crash report. Her vehicle slid sideways off Orion Road "due to the slippery road," struck the mailboxes and utility box and came to rest on top of a large rock.

There were no serious injuries as a result of the crash.
