Man With Stolen Property Arrested on Felony Warrant in Orion Township

Charges pending against Orion Township man.

The following information was provided by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

An Oakland County Sheriff's deputy on routine patrol on April 11 observed a man standing in a yard next to the window of a home on the 2500 block of Flintridge, according to department officials.

When the deputy stopped to investigate, the subject ran away, officials indicated. Another deputy and a police dog joined the scene to assist in the search, officials indicated, and hte man was found in the back yard of an address at the 3400 block of Chalice when he tried to climb a fence, officials indicated.

According to officials, the police dog grabbed the man by his backpack and pulled him to the ground, where deputies handcuffed the man and took him into custody.

The man was found to be in possession of stolen property from several still-unreported vehicle thefts in Orion Township, officials indicated. Officials indicated the man also had a valid felony warrant with the Oakland County Sheriff's Office on a charge of larceny in a building in Orion Township.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office identified the man as 18-year-old Justin James Scott of Orion Township.

Detectives continue to investigate the incident and additional charges are pending. The suspect was being lodged at the Oakland County Jail, officials indicated.
