We want to hear what you have to say! Leave a comment and tell us how you manage your child's classroom valentines.
Welcome to Mom Talk!
From now on, Wednesdays are "Momsday" on Oakland Township Patch, and Mom Talk is the place where we can all share our parenting struggles, victories and words of wisdom.
Today's topic: Valentines. Specifically, Valentines Day cards for your child's classmates and teachers.

How do you handle all those cards? Do you have your child fill them out? Do you help? Do you do it yourself? Do you include treats, and if so, how do you keep costs down? Or do you just skip it altogether?
I'm a divorced, single, working mother, and my son attends kindergarten in Rochester Community Schools (for a Moms Day conversation about half-day vs. full-day kindergarten in RCS, head on over to Rochester Patch). This year, my son's class is using Valentine's Day to learn about the postal system, so each day this week he is expected to bring in a few valentines he has personally addressed to his classmates and "mail" them in the classroom.

It's adorable, really.
But it's also time-consuming for him and for me, and we haven't even started putting together the Valentine's Day treats for his classmates yet! I am very interested to learn how you all deal with the "card holiday," and maybe we can share some good ideas.
And thanks in advance for your advice!
