Museum Farmhouse Ready to Celebrate Holidays Gone By

The event is 1-4 p.m. Saturday and features food, music, crafts and more.

Where history and the holidays meet, there is a farmhouse.

And one particular hometown farmhouse is ready to tell the stories of holidays long ago on Saturday, when the hosts "" from 1 to 4 p.m.

"The idea is to capture the Christmases of years past and to help families find an excuse for developing their own traditions," said Museum Director Pat McKay on Friday afternoon as he finished preparations inside the historic farmhouse.

Tickets are still available for the event. If you purchase them online Friday night they are $7, or you can pay $10 at the door.

The event will feature stories, food, crafts and performances by singers and a thespian group from . McKay said his own daughters will be baking cookies and helping spread holiday spirit.

A hay wagon will travel between the museum's farmhouse, the red barn and the one-room schoolhouse.
