Township Welcomes New Detective to Sheriff's Office Substation
Detective Jon Peters replaces Detective David Bach at the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Substation in Oakland Township.

One week ago today, Jon Peters quietly took over as detective in Oakland Township, bringing 25 years of law enforcement experience to the substation.
"We welcome Jon Peters," said Sgt. Anthony Spencer, commander of the . "He brings with him road patrol experience and will serve well as investigator for the township."
Peters replaces Detective David Bach at the substation, which employs about a dozen officers from the Oakland County Sheriff's Office. Bach, who held the detective position for a year, left the substation to join the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Auto Theft Unit in Pontiac.

"Detective Bach will be missed," Spencer said. "During his tour, he did an outstanding job, honed his investigative skills and will perform well in his new duty at auto theft."
Bach's departure opened up the only detective slot at the substation, and Peters snapped up the position. Peters, who is stepping into the role of detective for the first time, said he is grateful to the sheriff, undersheriff and Spencer for entrusting him with the position.

"I feel a tremendous amount of responsibility," Peters said. "I'll work hard for the township."
Peters, who has worked for the sheriff's office in Springfield Township, Independence Township, Oxford and Rochester Hills — as well as in the Circuit and 52nd-3rd District courthouses — said he is already enjoying his time in Oakland Township.
"I've met a lot of the township residents, and they seem nice and down to earth," Peters said.
"I like the area," he added. "It's beautiful here."
