VIDEO: Oakland University Reacts to Deaths of 2 Honor Students

Students and staff at are still in shock following Saturday's tragic accident that killed OU student Jenna Balabach and friend Rachel Ring, a former OU student who recently transferred to Grand Valley State University. The pair graduated from Romeo High School in 2010.

A third student involved in the car crash, 20-year-old Shannon Waite, was critically injured and remains in the hospital as of Monday afternoon, according to a statement from OU President Gary Russi.

"Any death among the Oakland University family diminishes us all, and the sudden death of two young, vibrant students is a particularly devastating blow," Russi wrote. "It is almost beyond our ability to comprehend such a tragedy."
