Police Blotter: Deer Impaled on Fence, Debit Card Overcharged

Here's a review of the past week's police news from the Sheriff's Office Substation in Oakland Township.

Highlights of recent local police reports:

Deer stuck on fence put down

Efforts to save a deer impaled on a resident's fence failed Saturday. In an incident similar to one reported in last week's , a deer apparently tried to leap over a fence and became impaled on it. The deer was discovered near Rochester and Mead roads when the property owner’s son went by to check on the home Saturday afternoon.

An Oakland County Sheriff’s deputy worked with the man to try to free the deer, which was still alive, from the fence but it was impaled too deeply. The officer used his handgun to kill the suffering deer, which was left for the resident and a neighbor to remove.
