Man poses as state employee, attempts to enter home
A woman on the 2700 block of East Clarkston Road filed a police report Wednesday afternoon after a man wearing a "generic, cheap-looking ID tag" and claiming he was from the State of Michigan attempted to enter her home on May 18.
The man came to the resident's back door and "asked if he could come into her home to do a survey." The woman refused to let him inside, and he left in an unknown direction, according to the report. There are no suspects.

A thief stole a purse, some jewelry and watches from a home on the 2800 block of South Addison Circle Saturday evening while the family who resides in the home was taking a walk through the neighborhood, according to a sheriff's office report. There are no suspects.

12-year-old boy discovers attempted burglary at family's home
Oakland County Sheriff's Office deputies canvassed the area near the 1700 block of Braemar on May 17 after a 12-year-old resident reported an attempted burglary at his family's home, according to a sheriff's office report.
Scuff marks were seen on the outside of one of the home's locked doors. The door jam was broken, but "the door had not been forced all the way open," according to the report. The screen to a storm window was also torn, though no fingerprints were recovered. No items were reported missing.

Tools, TV, golf clubs stolen from barn
A resident on the 2200 block of Rochester Road reported a generator, compressor, toolbox, tools, power washer, chainsaw, weed whacker, leaf blower, golf clubs and television missing from his unattached barn on May 16, according to a sheriff's office report.
"Entry appeared to have been gained by a partially-opened north side window," read the report. There are no suspects.
Man with "lengthy criminal history" arrested on felony warrant
A Lake Orion man was arrested Friday after Oakland County Sheriff's deputies stopped him near the 4600 block of Deer Springs Court.
According to a sheriff's office report, the man had been soliciting lawn aeration jobs without a permit along with another man. A resident called the police after reportedly observing a man wearing a black baseball cap running through back yards and looking into windows of the nearby houses.
A police computer background check revealed a felony arrest warrant from Metamora and a misdemeanor warrant from Auburn Hills, according to the report.
Deputies then searched the 27-year-old's truck and found "various drug paraphernalia," including needles, a marijuana pipe and "some green leafy substance" on the trailer, according to the report.
The man has a history of heroin use and "has a lengthy criminal history," according to the report. He was cited for soliciting without a permit and was taken into custody by Metamora Police.
Identity stolen, used to open Chase account
An Oakland Township resident attempted to open a Chase bank account on May 16 and was told there already was an account under her social security number, according to an Oakland County Sheriff's Office report. The resident was referred to the Social Security Administration office to report the fraudulent use of her social security number.
