Snapshot of the Day: Hot Air Balloon Lands at Delta Kelly Elementary

Oakland Township resident Cheri Hopkins said she was sitting in her living room Sunday evening when she heard what she thought was thunder.

"(We) turned and looked out our back living room and saw the balloon pass our window," Hopkins wrote in an email to Patch. "It was quite the surprise!"

The man piloting the RE/MAX balloon said he meant to land behind Delta Kelly Elementary school last night, wrote Hopkins. "He saw the field from above, and within minutes, a truck of people were there to help him pack up the basket. And then they were gone!"

Hopkins said she was glad her camera was sitting nearby on the table when the balloon landed.
