Snapshot of the Day: Recycle, Recycle, Recycle
Oakland Township residents can bring their recyclables to the Sheriff's Office substation parking lot every Saturday morning.

Did you know Oakland Township provides free recycling for residents every Saturday? Waste Management delivers the bins to the parking lot next to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Substation on Collins Road just north of Orion Road. The bins are available 9 a.m.-noon on Saturdays.
According to the Oakland Township website, the following items are accepted:
- No. 1 through No. 7 plastics, including plastic bags
- Newspapers, paperboard, magazines, junk mail, phone books and office paper
- Clear glass (must be empty and clean)
- Steel and tin cans (must be empty and clean)
- Cardboard (flattened and cut into pieces)
The township requests that trash, food and hazardous waste not be placed in the recycling bins. Excess items that do not fit inside the bins will not be picked up by Waste Management.
If you have any questions or concerns about the recycling bin, contact Elaine Leven at 248-651-4440, ext. 216.
