Subway Shop Opens in Country Creek Commons
New equipment, dining room, familiar menu at Adams and Silverbell roads.
A new Subway restaurant opened its doors to customers for the first time Monday morning, just a few doors from in the Country Creek Commons shopping center.
"We really thought there was a need for it, and we're in a great location here," said Matt Barcey, vice president of Dortch Enterprises, which operates Subway locations in Genesee, Livingston, Shiawassee, Oakland, Washtenaw and Wayne counties. The Oakland Township Subway restaurant is the 45th franchise Dortch Enterprises has opened.
The Subway features all-new equipment, a spacious dining room, a completely remodeled interior and new furniture. Employees were busy late Monday morning serving up the same made-to-order food for which the Subway chain is known.

"We really like the brand," said Barcey. "It's a really healthy brand."
Store manager and Waterford resident Justin Shipman said he looked forward to interacting with customers at the new restaurant.

"I'm really excited to see the people in this area," said Shipman who has worked for Subway for more than five years and was present at the store's opening.
Subway Sandwich Artist Carrie Zerla, of Burton said she especially likes "all the brand new, up-to-date equipment" at the store. She has worked for the franchise for a year and a half.
"Hopefully it's busy tonight," she added.
