T-Mobile Brings 4G Service to Goodison
The Zoning Board of Appeals approved a variance that allows T-Mobile to upgrade its equipment near the Goodison cellular tower.
Surfing the web on your cell phone is about to get a lot faster for T-Mobile customers near Goodison after the Zoning Board of Appeals approved a variance allowing T-Mobile to upgrade its equipment to 4G service.
Zoning Ordinance 16 mandates a 50-foot setback from the property line for the equipment, but since the parcel of land on which the cellular tower sits is so small, and since several other variances already existed on the property, the board passed the variance quickly and unanimously.
"We are on that tower already," said Michelle Sanders, senior manager for T-Mobile. "We're just adding some additional equipment on the ground."

Sanders added, "We're just excited to have better coverage in the area. It's an important area for us, and every little bit we can do to make our customers happy, we're gonna do."
Sanders says they will apply for a building permit next and will hopefully be able to upgrade the service within the next 30 days.
