Thieves Steal $2,200 from Bank Account; Alarm Goes Off During Home Check

The following information was supplied by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Substation in Oakland Township.

A woman discovered someone had stolen $2,200 from her checking account after she tried to use her card Wednesday and the charges were declined, according to a sheriff's office report.

The charges on the account came from three Michigan cities – Owosso, Corunna and St. Johns. The woman filed a report; there are no suspects at this time.

Deputies trip house alarm during home check

An Oakland County Sheriff's Office deputy accidentally activated a security alarm at a home on Lake George Road early Friday morning, according to a sheriff's office report.

The homeowner requested a deputy check on the home. A deputy found the back door leading into the kitchen to be unlocked and activated the house alarm by opening the door, according to the report.

Deputies searched the home to make sure nobody was inside; the house appeared to be undisturbed, and deputies secured the home before leaving, according to the report.
