Vintage Baseball 'A Gentleman's Game' for Rochester Grangers
The Rochester Grangers vintage baseball team played the Chelsea Monitors Saturday at Halbach Field in Rochester.
As part of the , two vintage base ball teams met at the nearby in Rochester on Saturday afternoon for a gentlemanly game of base ball.
The and the Chelsea Monitors faced off at 1 p.m.; a moderate crowd gathered to watch the game, including a few audience members in period costume.
"Back then, baseball was a gentleman's game," said Pat McKay, supervisor of the Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm. McKay is a member of the team.

"Pretty soon, it became more competitive."
The Rochester Grangers won the game against the Chelsea Monitors, 23-4.
