Where are the Biggest, Baddest Potholes in Oakland Township?

Tis the season for tire-popping, axle-cracking potholes, especially on the local gravel roads.

No, that's not the Grand Canyon – it's the infamous pothole at Gallagher and Silver Bell roads. If you're not careful, it may swallow your tire whole.

Unfortunately, super-sized potholes are not uncommon in Oakland Township this time of year. Months of varying temperatures have frozen, thawed and cracked the pavement in some places, and melted snow and pouring rain has carried away and rearranged pieces of the dirt roads.

Some of these potholes could easily pop tires, bend wheels and possibly even crack axles if the driver were not careful. Although some local roads look like they already have a new layer of gravel this season, it's still a slow process to undo the damage winter does to the roads.
