5 Things To Do This Weekend In Metro Detroit
Everything from an ice festival to wellness expo to the Detroit Symphony Orchestra performing "I Heard It Through The Grapevine."

METRO DETROIT, MI — Happy first weekend of 2017! Below are a few metro Detroit area activities to check out this weekend.
1. Have some freezing fun at the Plymouth Ice Festival. Up to 100,000 people are expected to attend this year's event, which will feature nearly 100 ice sculptures, a dueling chainsaw competition, an ice bar, petting zoo, horse-drawn carriage rides - and more. The festival runs Jan. 6 - Jan. 8. Check out the full details here.
2. See a double feature honoring Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher. The Redford Theater is paying home to the late Hollywood actresses with a combo movie night: "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" starring Reynolds and "When Harry Met Sally" with Fisher. Showtime: Friday, Jan. 6. Click here for tickets.

3. Don't hear it through the grapevine, hear it from Patch! The Detroit Symphony Orchestra's 'Love Is All You Need' show features 60's hits like "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" and "Brown-Eyed Girl." Performances: Friday, Jan. 6 - Sun, Jan. 8. Tickets start at $19. Click here for more info.
4. Start the new year off at "The New Year! New You! Wellness Expo" at the Royal Oak Farmer's Market on Jan. 7 from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The free event will be a day of health-centric activities and foods, including presentations, exhibits, and samples.

5. Be dazzled by the Russian National Ballet's performance of "Sleeping Beauty" at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Theater on Jan. 6 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets: $39, $35, $29. Click here for details.
