70 Jobs Coming To Plymouth Township By Manufacturer

A Switzerland-based industrial and technology company will bring employees, $50 million in community investments.

PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, MI – A Switzerland-based industrial and technology company is planning on building an 80,000-square-foot manufacturing facility to Plymouth Township that could bring as many as 70 employees and $50 million in community investments.

The building, which will sit south of Schoolcraft Road and just east of Haggerty Road, will become home to global surface solutions provider Oerlikon Metco, Inc. The company plans to produce advanced titanium alloys and high-end thermal spray powders, which will then be packaged and shipped to automotive, aerospace, agricultural, and medical consumers around the world, dbusiness reported.

The project was coordinated between Oerlikon Metco, and Kirco/Kirco Manix in Troy. Groundbreaking was recently held for the facility, which is expected to be completed in the spring of 2018. Oerlikon Metco, which is a global surface solutions provider, will lease the building from Kirco, dbusiness reported.
