Canton Fire Department to Host Open House
Take a station tour, dress up in fire gear and chow down on hot dogs and popcorn at Fire Station No. 1 on Oct. 12.

Ever wonder what it's like to be a firefighter?
Find out during the Canton Fire Department's open house on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Fire Station No. 1, located at 1100 S. Canton Center Road.
This year’s open house, being held in conjunction with National Fire Prevention Week Oct. 6-12, will include station tours, fire gear dress-up station, fire safety fun bags for kids, fire prevention handouts, hot dogs and popcorn.
The department’s Fire Safety House will also be open for kids to go through. In addition to the Open House, the fire department will be doing fire safety talks at local elementary schools during the month of October.
Later in the year, the department will hold its Annual Fire Prevention Poster Contest. Information will be sent out through the elementary schools.
