Election Will Bring New Mayor For Plymouth
Longtime Mayor Dan Dwyer is ending his 18-year political career. The city commission will select his replacement on Nov. 13.

PLYMOUTH, MI — While there is little drama in the race for Plymouth’s city commission — there are five candidates for four open seats — it doesn’t mean there won’t be change after the Nov. 7 general election. Longtime Mayor Dan Dwyer announced in April he would not seek re-election, ending an 18-year political career.
Commissioner Joe Valenti also didn’t seek re-election. Current Mayor Pro-Tem Oliver Wolcott and Commissioner Daniel Dalton are on the ballot along with newcomers Ed Krol and Nicholas Moroz. Write-in candidate David Latawiec will not appear on the ballot.
After the election, Plymouth’s next mayor and mayor pro-tem will be selected by the newly seated commission at its Nov. 13 meeting.
