Guy Fieri Opening First MI Chicken Guy! Restaurant In Metro Detroit

LIVONIA, MI — Another chicken shop is coming to metro Detroit.

Celebrity chef Guy Fieri is opening Michigan's first Chicken Guy! restaurant in Livonia, according to the City of Livonia's official Instagram page.

The restaurant is expected to open in March at 30130 Plymouth Road, between Merriman and Middlebelt roads.

Fieri's Chicken Guy! is known for serving chicken dinners, including its signature chicken sandwich and tenders. The restaurant also serves sides, such as fries, coleslaw, pickle chips and mac and cheese.

The chicken dinners also offer 22 different types of sauces to choose from, including classics such as Bourbon Brown Sugar BBQ and Wasabi Honey.

The Livonia restaurant will join ten other Chicken Guy! restaurants across the nation. Fieri also opened a Flavortown Kitchen in Livonia at 17700 Haggerty Road two years ago.

News of the restaurant's opening comes just after a Chick-fil-A restaurant owned by Detroit native Vikki Hardy Brown opened Thursday on Middlebelt Road in Livonia.

Florida-based Lee's Famous Chicken, which is known for its honey-dipped chicken and biscuits, is also set to open in Livonia, just a mile and a half west of Chicken Guy at 33351 Plymouth.
