Have Lunch With The Lincolns At The Plymouth Historical Museum

The Plymouth Historical Museum is hosting a special lunch in celebration of Abraham Lincoln's birthday on Feb. 12.

PLYMOUTH, MI — It would be cool going to lunch with Abraham Lincoln. Now you can - in a way.

The Plymouth Historical Museum is hosting a special event titled “Lunch with the Lincolns," where Abraham Lincoln and his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln, who will be portrayed by Fred and Bonnie Priebe, will stop by for lunch at the Plymouth Historical Museum, according to a press release. The lunch is scheduled for Sunday Feb. 12, the anniversary of President Lincoln’s birthday.

The Lincolns will talk about Michigan’s role in the Civil War and share mourning customs of 1862 at the time of their son Willie’s passing. The lunch and program are from 12 noon – 2 p.m. and will feature a menu of Lincoln’s favorite foods.

“We are fortunate to have the largest collection of exhibited Lincoln memorabilia in the state,” Executive Director Elizabeth Kerstens said in a statement. She continued, “Lincoln’s birthday seemed a perfect time to invite folks here to enjoy it.”

To get your ticket, log online to www.plymouthhistory.org $25 members, $30 non-members (Price increases $5 after February 3.) Admission includes the special exhibit “Celebrating Plymouth –150 Years”, the Lincoln Room and all other museum areas.
