New Plymouth Historical Museum Exhibit Celebrates City's 150th Anniversary

The exhibit - "Celebrating Plymouth - 150 Years" - will spotlight notable people and stories spanning across Plymouth's 150 year history.

PLYMOUTH, MI The city of Plymouth is turning the big 150 years old this year, and to celebrate the big birthday, the Plymouth Historical Museum is launching a new exhibit titled “Celebrating Plymouth—150 Years,” according to a press release.

The exhibit kicks off at the Plymouth Historical Museum on Jan. 13 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., followed by a wine and appetizer reception for members from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

What makes this year-long exhibit so special is that it will change throughout the year as it spotlights notable people and stories from different decades spanning across Plymouth's 150 year history. The first installment of the exhibit will showcase the beginning years of Plymouth and the pioneers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

“It is a very exciting year for the Museum as we celebrate this community milestone,” Liz Kerstens, executive director of the Plymouth Historical Museum, said in a statement.

And mark your calendar for these upcoming special events at the museum: “Mentioning Unmentionables –An Afternoon Tea” on Jan. 29, “Lunch with the Lincolns” on Feb. 12 and “A Night For the Museum” on March 11.
