In order to keep things running smoothly, we need to stay vigilant with our Covid mitigation strategies. Students need to continue to wash their hands and/or use hand sanitizer, maintain physical distancing when possible, and be careful when they are unmasked outside of school. Please encourage them to come to the office if they are feeling sick. We are happy to let them use their phone or the office phone to contact you. If we utilize these strategies consistently, we will have a much safer learning environment. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to work through these challenging times.
Our Neighborhood:
I know that our traffic issues are significant each day, but we need to be mindful of our Pioneer neighbors. The neighborhood just west of Pioneer on Ann Arbor Road is especially impacted by this. Since our vehicle traffic is directly in front of their homes, we need to be mindful of the following items. Please do not park your vehicle directly in front of their driveway, mailboxes or trash cans. Many of our neighbors in this area aren’t getting mail, or their trash picked up, because it is blocked by parked vehicles. We will be adding some additional signage to help with this issue as well. Your cooperation and patience is appreciated.
NJHS Food Drive:
The National Junior Honor Society will be having its annual “Line the Library” food drive. Students can drop off any non-perishable food items and toiletries to their homeroom. The food drive will run from November 22nd to December 1st. Donations will be taken to the Salvation Army and will provide families in need with food for the holidays.
Upcoming Dates:
November 24-26, 2021 Thanksgiving Break
December 20-January 2, 2022 Winter Break
January 3, 2022 Classes Resume
Boys Basketball Tryouts:
Boys basketball tryouts for 7th & 8th graders will begin on Monday, December 13, 2021 after school in the Pioneer Gym. In order to tryout for the team, students must have a physical on file with the office dated after April 15, 2021.
