Detroit’s Fisher Building was intended to be a New Center for the city. This talk will review the building and selling of it in the late 1920s. The talk moves to the mid-1960s for memories of the building when the author worked for the Fisher while attending Wayne State University. While the building is still considered a major contribution to Detroit’s legacy it did not become the crown jewel of a new city center.

Presented by Don Batkins. Mr. Batkins grew up in Mount Clemens. He attended Wayne State University, Eastern Michigan University, and Michigan State University.
