Rep. Kristy Pagan of Canton Sworn Into Michigan House of Representatives
Rep. Pagan (D-Canton) is in her second term representing the 21st District.

PLYMOUTH-CANTON, MI — Rep. Kristy Pagan (D-Canton) was ceremonially sworn in on Jan. 11 to serve in the Michigan House of Representatives for the 99th Legislature in 2017-18, according to a press release.
Rep. Pagan was raised in Canton and graduated from Western Michigan University. She serves on the Canton Community Foundation Board of Directors and the Advisory Council for the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) program at Canton High School.
Education will be a huge focus for Rep. Pagan in the House. In a statement, Rep. Pagan said "The best investment we can make in our state’s future is education. Unfortunately, a recent independent study solidified the fact that our state has significant funding gaps when it comes to our schools, and we have yet to return to the funding levels that were in place before 2011. Making Michigan a top-10 education state remains one of my top priorities, and this includes ensuring that our schools have adequate per-pupil funding for K-12, increasing access to quality early-learning programs and making college more affordable. I’m ready to continue the fight on behalf of Michigan’s students, teachers, parents and schools.”
