Take a Helicopter Ride Around Plymouth-Canton and More This Weekend

1. Free Electronic Recycling Event

• When: Friday, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Where: 45000 Helm St. #150 Plymouth Township
• What: Intertek, Johnson Controls and Advanced Technology Recycling are working together to offer the community an opportunity to have electronics recycled responsibly at no charge.

2. "The Way Way Back" at the Penn Theatre

• When: Friday and Saturday, 7 p.m. and 9:05 p.m.; Sunday, 4:45 p.m. and 7 p.m.
• Where: The Penn Theatre, 760 Penniman Avenue, Plymouth
• What: Shy 14-year-old Duncan goes on summer vacation with his mother, her overbearing boyfriend, and her boyfriend's daughter. Having a rough time fitting in, Duncan finds an unexpected friend in Owen, manager of the Water Wizz water park.
  

3. Airport Open House

• When: Saturday, 10 a.m.
• Where: Canton-Plymouth-Mettetal Airport, 8550 N. Lilley Road, Canton 
• What: See dozens of general aviation aircraft and witness fly-ins of private pilots from the community and around the state. Take a discovery ride in an airplane or in a helicopter (charges apply). Tour the displays of several remote controlled model airplanes. Food and beverage concession. 
  

4. Euchre Tournament

• When: Saturday, 6 p.m.
• Where: Plymouth Elks Club, 41700 Ann Arbor Rd, Plymouth
• What: WSDP (88.1 FM, The Park), the Student Radio program of the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools, is hosting its 2nd Annual WSDP Euchre Classic. Cost is $25 at the door. Top 10 percent of finishers share the prize pool. Pizza and snacks included. Cash bar.

5. Compuware Hosts AHL Preseason Game

• When: Saturday, 7 p.m.
• Where: Compuware Arena, 14900 N. Beck Road, Plymouth
• What: Compuware Arena hosts the Grand Rapids Griffins against the Lake Erie Monsters on Sept. 28 in an American Hockey League pre-season game at 7 pm. Tickets cost $10 and are available at the Compuware Arena Box Office by calling 734-453-8400.
