Wayne County’s residents have voted, and the results are in.

Republican incumbent Gov. Rick Snyder was re-elected to his position as governor of Michigan on Tuesday, Nov. 4, in the 2014 midterm elections, the Detroit Free Press reports.

Likewise, Congressman Gary Peters is headed to the U.S. Senate after former Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land conceded the race to him Tuesday evening.

The wins mark a victory for the Michigan GOP, whose members now have control of the governor’s office along with a hand in the senators’.
