Wayne County Man Killed In Ann Arbor Shootout: Police
Police do not believe the killing was random.
ANN ARBOR, MI — A Wayne County man was shot and killed Friday in Ann Arbor, according to police.
The shooting happened at 1:15 p.m. Friday in the area of Platt Road and Packard Street, according to police.
Police said the 18-year-old Westland man was shot during a shootout after walking out of a business in the area. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died, according to police.

Officers in the area saw the suspect's vehicle fleeing the area and started chasing it, according to police.
The suspect's vehicle then crashed into a tree in the area of Platt Road and Lorraine Street and three men were arrested in connection with shooting, according to police.

Police did not identify any of the suspects or say if they were hurt in the shootout. They also did not identify the victim.
Investigators were still trying to determine a motive for the shooting. They do not believe the killing was random.
