Woman Pleads Guilty In Fatal Livonia Hit-And-Run Crash: Report

The crash killed a 3-year-old boy and critically injured his mom and sister, police said.

LIVONIA, MI — A Mount Morris woman has pleaded guilty to charges related to a Livonia crash that killed a 3-year-old boy and injured two others earlier this summer, according to local reports.

The crash happened on June 29 at 10:46 p.m. on Merriman Road at Lyndon Street where police said 28-year-old Tia Robinson was walking her 3-year-old twin son and daughter, Khalil and Khole. They were struck by a car that never stopped, according to police.

All three were taken to a nearby hospital where Khalil died, and Tia and Khole were in critical condition, according to police.

Tammy Sandoval, 56, was charged with one count of operating while license suspended, revoked, or denied – causing death, two counts of operating while license suspended, revoked, or denied – causing serious injury, one count of failure to stop at the scene of an accident while at fault – causing death and two counts of failure to stop at the scene of an accident – causing serious impairment.

She pleaded guilty Wednesday to the charges of driving while license suspended causing death and driving while license suspended causing serious injury. She will be sentenced on Jan. 6 and faces between five and 15 years in prison.

The crash happened after the Livonia Spree fireworks show. Police said the traffic signals were flashing red for Lyndon and yellow for Merriman at the time of the crash.
