Crittenton Hospital's Emergency Department Gets $1.2 Million Renovation
The initial phase of the project involved renovating the Emergency Department welcome area, the EMS work room and patient care areas.

From Crittenton Hospital: Rochester – Work is complete on a $1.2 million renovation of the Emergency Department at Crittenton Hospital Medical Center.
The initial phase of the project involved renovating the Emergency Department welcome area, the EMS work room and patient care areas. The welcome area is open, modern, well lit, and features repositioned reception desk and online check-in area. The EMS work room updates were designed with input from several area first responders, and feature added work stations. Seven of the patient rooms have been also updated to feature sliding glass doors to increase privacy and reduce noise for patients.
The key portion of the second phase of the project involved renovating EMS entrance and a second consultation room.

“The goal of this project is to increase comfort and convenience for patients and emergency medical workers,” according the Glen Garwood, director of Emergency Services at Crittenton.
Crittenton also recently introduced specially appointed Senior ER rooms and received its Level III trauma certification. Crittenton uses a “straight-back” process in the Emergency Department. Instead of sending patients to the waiting room following triage, patients are sent directly to the treatment area. This process has led to Crittenton having the shortest wait times in the area.
