OAKLAND COUNTY, MI — An Oakland County man feels like "a weight has been lifted from his chest" after winning a $1 million raffle prize from the Michigan Lottery, officials said.

The 30-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous, won the big prize when his Super Raffle number (172580) was selected as a $1 million winner in the drawing on Nov. 19, officials said.

He bought his winning ticket at Kakoz 2 LLC, located at 36950 Dequindre Road in Sterling Heights, officials said.

"My brother told me about the Super Raffle game, so I asked him to buy me a ticket when he went and got one for himself and I ended up getting lucky," said the player. "When I saw my raffle ticket was a $1 million winner, I couldn’t believe it. I had to check it several times before it started to sink in that I really won. I feel stress free and like a weight has been lifted from my chest!"

He chose to receive his prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $693,000, rather than annuity payments for the full amount, officials said.
