Man Found Shot To Death In Oakland County Field: Sheriff

PONTIAC, MI — Police are investigating after a 19-year-old man was found dead in an Oakland County neighborhood Wednesday.

Officers found Cornelius Traves Murphy Jr. shot dead in an open field at 8:16 a.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of N. Jessie in Pontiac, according to sheriff's officials.

Officials believe the shooting happened Tuesday around 8:30 p.m.

They asked anyone with information about the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case. Tipsters remain anonymous.
