GROVELAND TOWNSHIP, MI — An Oakland County woman accused of throwing drain cleaner on her father in October has been charged with homicide following his death last week.

On Oct. 1, state police were called to Groveland Township for an aggravated assault complaint. Megan Imirowicz, 18, threw drain cleaner on her father, leaving him with severe injuries, state police said.

His injuries included severe chemical burns to his head, torso, arms and legs, and a neighbor found him lying on a couch in the home. Imirowicz tossed lye powder and water on her father and then left him unconscious and alone at their home, The Oakland Press reported at the time, citing state police.

At the time, Imirowicz was charged with domestic violence and assault with intent to do great bodily harm. She was released on bond and her location wasn't known, state police said.

Her father remained hospitalized since the attack and died of his injuries last week. State police resubmitted an investigation report, and prosecutors upgraded the charges against Imirowicz to homicide.

Authorities quickly found and arrested her. She was booked into the Oakland County Jail on Friday evening on charges of homicide and simple assault, online court records showed. Bond was denied.
