Rochester Hills Residents Volunteer To Help Restore Detroit Central High

'Rochester Hills Stands with Detroit Day' is Friday. Find out how to help.

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — More than 100 people from Rochester Hills will be spending the day removing blight and assisting in the construction of a new Community Innovation Center in Detroit. For the second straight year, the city is partnering with Life Remodeled, a Detroit-based non-profit organization, to help revitalize Central High School and the surrounding area.

"Rochester Hills Stands with Detroit Day" will unite residents with hundreds of other southeastern Michigan volunteers to work in Detroit. City employees, council members, and residents are encouraged to join city leadership in donating time to this great cause. This is part of a week long volunteer effort where over 12,000 volunteers will contribute their time to rebuild the area.

"Last year, over 130 city employees and residents volunteered to be a part of this exciting program," Mayor Bryan K. Barnett said in a news release. "Our team is excited to support our neighbors, and we hope that other Rochester Hills residents will join us in this effort."
