Rochester Hills Should Consolidate Pay Systems: Report
A recently completed compensation study of Rochester Hills employees recommends consolidating pay systems.

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — A recently completed compensation report of Rochester Hills employees is recommending six different compensation systems be consolidated into one. That was the finding of a six-month report completed for the city by McGrath Human Resources Group. It’s the first time in 15 years Rochester Hills has had a compensation study completed.
"The group collected data from 18 comparable municipalities and surveyed 127 different positions within the city. They also conducted supervisor and employee interviews and collected information through questionnaires. Unions and focus groups were involved in the process as well.
“You have six different types of compensation systems,” Victoria McGrath, CEO of McGrath Human Resources Group, told city council. “There’s inconsistent placement methodologies… and that’s one of the reasons some people think they get something that other people don’t.”
