Rochester Schools Calendar 2019-20: First Day Of School, Vacation

ROCHESTER, MI — The first day of school in Rochester is Sept. 3 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you'll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP. The Rochester Community School District has released its 2018-2019 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

September

• Sept. 3: First day of school, full day of school (6-12 and post high)
  • AM Half Day of School (K-5)
• Sept. 4: Full Day of school (1-12 and Post High)
  • Kindergarten Student Last Names A-M only
• Sept 5: Full Day of School (1-12 and Post High)
  • Kindergarten Student Last Names N-Z Only

October

• Oct. 9-17: Parent teacher conferences (9-12)

November

• Nov. 4-5: No school for students
• Nov. 12-20: Parent teacher conferences (K-5)
• Nov. 26-Dec. 1: Thanksgiving recess

December

• Dec. 2: Classes resume
• Dec. 13: AM Half day
• Dec. 20-Jan. 5: Holiday recess

January

• Jan. 6: Classes resume
• Jan. 20: No school for MLK Day
• Jan. 22-24: AM half day (6-12 and Post high)

February

• Feb. 7: AM half day (K-5)
• Feb. 14-17: Midwinter recess
• Feb. 18: classes resume

March

• March 4-19: Parent teacher conferences

• April 3-12: Spring recess

• April 14: No students for grades 9 and 12 - testing
