ROCHESTER, MI — The first day of school in Rochester is Sept. 3 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you'll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP. The Rochester Community School District has released its 2018-2019 calendar for public schools.
The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

- Sept. 3: First day of school, full day of school (6-12 and post high)
- AM Half Day of School (K-5)
- Sept. 4: Full Day of school (1-12 and Post High)
- Kindergarten Student Last Names A-M only
- Sept 5: Full Day of School (1-12 and Post High)
- Kindergarten Student Last Names N-Z Only
