Blackfinn Ameripub Closes In Royal Oak

The South Main Street bar closed without notice on Tuesday.

ROYAL OAK, MI — Blackfinn Ameripub at 530 S. Main closed permanently on Tuesday. No warnings or explanations were given by management of the sports bar, according to multiple media reports.

WWJ-Radio reported that a note was posted on Blackfinn’s door and apologized for the sudden move. It also thanked Royal Oak diners for their loyalty.

Blackfinn Ameripub’s other Michigan location at the Mall at Patridge Creek in Clinton Township, is not affected by the Royal Oak closing. The Detroit Free Press reported that each of the chain’s 10 outlets, mostly along the East Coast, are all independently owned.

“Horrible Service - waiter was playing Trivia and not serving our table,” Alex W. of Ann Arbor wrote in a May 17 review. He gave Blackfinn just one star. “We had to get a second waitress to help check on our order and bring out food.”

Sabrina S. of Shelby Township wrote a lengthy Yelp review on Sunday. “5 stars for the food, 1 star for the service, so I averaged it out at 3 stars,” she wrote.
