City Meetings, Dream Home Expo, Charity Hockey Game and More

Here are five things going on in Royal Oak this week. What do you have planned?

It's a busy week in Royal Oak, as usual. Here are five things you should know as you go about your week:

  1. City Commission meets Monday: The City Commission meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. Click here for the agenda.
  2. The Downtown Development Authority meets Wednesday: The DDA meeting starts at 4 p.m. at City Hall. Click here for the agenda.
  3. "Stage Door" opens Friday: The Royal Oak High School Drama Club presents "Stage Door". The comedy follows the story of a struggling young actress living in New York City and the two dozen young women who occupy the boarding house in which she is staying. Showtimes are: 7 p.m. Friday; 7 p.m. Saturday; and  2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students.
  4. Dream Home Expo on Saturday: Sponsored by the City of Royal Oak and the Royal Oak School District, the expo features architects, builders, home improvement/remodeling firms, landscaping companies, and the City Building Department from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Royal Oak Middle School.
  5. Guns & Hoses Charity Hockey Game on Saturday: The police and fire departments face-off at 7 p.m. at the John Lindell Ice Arena. Proceeds from this year's event to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Tickets are $10 each and are available at the police station or any of the three fire stations or at the ice rink on the day of the event.
