Cops With A Heart: Royal Oak Police Department Officers Grow Mustaches To Benefit Children With Autism

The Golden Mustache Trophy goes to the community that raises the most funds.

ROYAL OAK, MI — The Royal Oak Police Department is teaming up with the Friends of Jacob Foundation and competing to see who can grow the best or the worst mustache in the month of March. All funds raised will go to benefit the Michigan-based charity.

The police departments of Berkley, Madison Heights, Hazel Park, Ferndale, Pleasant Ridge and Huntington Woods are also participating. Royal Oak residents can support this competition without growing a mustache. The community raising the most funds for Friends of Jacob Foundation will receive the Golden Mustache Trophy to proudly display until the next competition.

The foundation is a local organization that assists children with autism and their families by providing grants for medical bills, socialization activities and support networks. Here are just a few ways The Friends of Jacob Foundation helps families:
