Couple Robbed At Gunpoint In National Coney Parking Lot

Royal Oak Police are looking for two suspects who robbed a couple at gunpoint in the parking lot of National Coney Island.

Royal Oak Police are looking for two suspects in an armed robbery. Early Tuesday morning, at 1:19 a.m., Royal Oak police were called to the National Coney Island at 1812 N. Main where a couple reported they’d been held up by a pair of armed men. The suspects approached the couple while they were seated in their car, pointing guns at them and demanding money. The suspects are described as a 6’, 200-lb black man wearing glasses, a light blue zip-up hoodie and a winter hat. The second suspect is described as a 6’1”, 220- lb black man who wore all dark clothing and a ski mask.

The victims, a man and a woman police describe as in their late 30s, said the two suspects were armed with handguns and fled with the victims’ wallets and a cell phone. During the robbery, one of the suspects hit the female victim in the face with the handle of his gun, the couple told police. The woman had a minor injury, but declined EMS care.

The suspects fled by car after the robbery, though the victims were unable to see the vehicle to give any description. The Royal Oak Police Criminal Investigation Division is investigating to crime and asks anyone with information about the incident or suspects’ identities to call Royal Oak Police Lieutenant Keith Spencer at (248) 246-3456.
