Foundation Provides Help for Blind Children

Royal Oak's Vision Research ROPARD Foundation provides resources for children and adults who are blind or severely visually impaired.

The Vision Research ROPARD Foundation aims to help children and adults with vision problems. They help to prevent, treat and provide resources for those in need.

Outreach Director Paula Korelitz recently submitted information about the non-profit organization through the Patch Small Business Spotlight.

What does your business offer? 

Free services and materials to families with blind or severely visually impaired children.

Our knowledge about resources for families with blind or visually impaired children.

What's a fact about your business that most customers probably don't know?

That we exist! We provide services to families from all over the United States and to date to families from over 50 foreign countries.

When was the business founded?

Our Children's Low Vision Resource Center was founded in September, 2001 and has always been in Royal Oak. Our new address is 3412 W. Thirteen Mile Road.

How did your business come to be? 

It was through the concern of Dr. Michael Trese to provide educational assistance to the families who brought their children to his office for medical and surgical intervention that we established the Children's Low Vision Resource Center.

Why did you choose the area you did?

It's proximity to Dr. Trese's office and Beaumont Hospital.
