PHOTOS: Yogurt City Opens in Downtown Royal Oak
You'll pay by the ounce at Yogurt City on Main Street.
Michigan's fifth Yogurt City opened at 122 S. Main, next to the Nutri-Food store.
At 1,600 square-feet, it's the smallest Yogurt City in Michigan, said Rain Wu, manager. The other locations are in Canton, Novi, Rochester Hills and Ann Arbor.
Yogurt City has dozens of flavors in its lineup, such as chocolate cookies and cream, pistachio and coffee lover, and includes non-dairy, low fat and non-fat options. Pick your cup, flavor swirl, toppings, weigh and pay.
There are approximately 100 calories per a half cup (4 oz.) for most flavors and customers pay $0.49 per ounce.
The colorful dining area seats 30 to 40 people. Two TVs and WiFi access are on the way, according to the manager, Rain Wu.
The store's winter hours are noon to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; noon to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
"We plan to stay open until 2 a.m. during the summer," Wu said.
